What Are You Waiting For?

Waiting tables may be one of the least appreciated jobs out there. But we love waiters (and in case you're worried, we mean "waiters" in a gender-neutral way -- we won't adopt the use of "waitron"). We've toiled through long shifts in food service, at the mercy of fickle tightwads who think we can pay rent with religious tracts and napkin origami. We've waited on large, demanding parties and lonely old men who camp at tables for hours. We've served families with gaggles of small children competing to see who can squish the most mashed potatoes into the carpet. We confiscated fake IDs, fended off lecherous drunks. We've had nightmares where we work a full shift (and it's a bad one) only to wake up exhausted and stressed but without an apron pocket full of tips. Are we bitter? Maybe a little. But at least we're perfect patrons because of our time in the trenches. We salute all the waiters out there, whether they're working their way through school, waiting for another line of work, or proud to call themselves career waiters.

Waitstaff is the hardest working and most underpaid group of people in a restaurant.

Waiters & waitresses (don't be afraid to say it) make mega bucks on tips if they are good (and don't pay taxes on some of it), no whining please or we'll lower the tips! Nothing worse than going out and spending lots of bucks on dinner and having poor service!

I THINK ALL WHO WORK WITH THE PUBLIC SHOULD BE TREATED WITH RESPECT AND DESERVE TO BE TIPPED ACCORDINGLY. YOUR NOT TOO CHEAP TOO EAT OUT.. TIP GOOD! THESE PEOPLE HAVE BILLS AND FAMILIES JUST LIKE YOU... AND THEY WORK THEIR BUTTS OFF TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD DINING EXPERIENCE!

Servers are druggies - After 3 months of serving, I am well aware of this sick, perverse world.

Why give my money to drugs?

Quit whining and get a better paying job. Try being a cop or a firefighter with low pay. Or a GI.

Baby, you got a topic here.

We work all day for pennies. Then, one person can make up for all the one's who forgot to tip!

I completely understand what kind of mess waiters have to go through. I work at a food establishment, and there are some customers who take us for granted. So when me and my friends go out; instead of leaving this huge mess of food on the table, we leave with a semi-neat table so that the waiter who cleans our table wont have a hard time. Also to show our appreciation, we leave a large tip on the table. Soo, waiters rock.
