Lebowski Fest poster (By Bill Green) Hey man, Dude, here. So there's, like, this far out party called the Lebowski Fest, you know, where admirers of His Dudeness and my two amigos Walter and Donny get together and celebrate what makes a man: bowling and White Russians. So, "why?" you might ponder. Well, some people say the film "The Big Lebowski" -- which was about a very strange time in my life -- is a cult classic and has earned some serious fans. And that's far f----in' out, man! So, like, about seven years ago, two achievers decided to, you know, facilitate this little festival over in Louisville, Kentucky. That was kind of a bummer, since I live in L.A. (or "Los Angeles," if you're not into the whole brevity thing). But hey, man, it's a free country, they can celebrate El Dudarino any place they want, you know? So anyways, in the past seven years, this "Lebowski Fest" has traveled to some far out bowling alleys in London, New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, and for this first time, this year it'll be in San Francisco. The founders wrote a book, too, and now there's even a f---in' movie about the Fest, man! All of this publicity is just blowin' my mind. The festival is genius, though, man -- a Swiss f---in' watch, if you ask me. Those who are privy to it can just hang out, you know, drink a Caucasian, bowl, watch my film, play trivia, and other what-have-yous. I stopped by once to scope things out. Lots of very fascinating people, some even dressed like me or Walter or even the Nihilists! That's dedication, man! And you know what? The Dude abides. Suggested Sites...
