When we sat down to write about Procrastination Week, we knew it would be an easy task. We were thrilled with the promise of writing about something so dear to our hearts.
The more we researched procrastination, though, the more we were filled with a growing sense of unease. Most of the sites we found suggested that procrastination is something terrible, going so far as to offer tips on how to overcome it and methods for better organization and time management. What kind of evil conspiracy had we uncovered?
We learned that there's a whole industry out there (well, probably more than one -- we didn't have time for too much research because we were busy cleaning our desks) dedicated to stamping out procrastination in all its lovely, natural forms! These efficiency addicts seem to think that procrastination is something to be ashamed of, something to be eradicated. Our way of life is being threatened, and it seems that no one has the time to stand up and defend it!
And now Procrastination Week is half over, and we've spent so long reading their anti-procrastination diatribes that we've run out of time to learn more about the positive, pro-procrastination ways to celebrate. Maybe next year....
