If you're neither a teenage girl nor the parent of one, consider yourself lucky, for you probably haven't been subjected to Hannah Montana. Like other shows on the Disney Channel and its ilk, Hannah Montana succeeds with tweens by offering bland music, wooden "acting," minimal production values, and nothing that would disturb even the most sensitive grandparent.
We can't place all the blame for this fiasco on Disney, though. Much of it can be pinned on its star, Miley Cyrus (daughter of singer Billy Ray Cyrus -- yes, that Billy Ray Cyrus). The "multi-talented" Miley, who wrote most of the songs on her latest album (and we all know how many songs written by 14-year-olds end up in the Great American Songbook), turns 15 on November 27. She'll celebrate in Charlotte, North Carolina, on her tour that caused a commotion for its instant sellouts and distress among those unable to get tickets.
H. L. Mencken once noted that no one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public. With that in mind, we'd like to suggest a song title for Miley's next album: "Laughing All the Way to the Bank."

Dear Mr.Dave Sikula
This is the rudest and most unnecessary review I have ever read. Why are you knocking the Tween shows? Everything you said about the show is true. However, you are bias critic because no one knows who are or the following about you. Are you a kid or tween. Are you are a parent and who do you work for if not yahoo? What you are basing your opinion on? Are you unemployable critic? Either way, this show is not for you.
This show is for tween,younger and the few overexpose brittany spear adults that are sick to death of bad television. Hannah Montana is probably one of the most corniest shows on the channel but it is better than being bombarded with worthless celebrities, presidential lies and terrible television with over the top wanna bees. If you dislike the show that much, read a book but don't knock the show with useless negativity.

Dear Mr. Sikula,
I disagree with you to a certain extent.
In my opinion, while it's true that "Hannah Montana" is not Shakespeare, it is also true that it does not aim to be.
I am the parent of a tween who enjoys the show (though does not go to the concerts or buy into the merchandising) and I occasionally enjoy it myself -- when I get sick and tired of watching the blood spattered crime shows on all the other channels.
I agree that it doesn't have the classic story lines of a favorite like "Leave it to Beaver" (how well does sarcasm come across online?), but even if no one is clamoring to watch this show in reruns twenty years from now, it will have served its purpose. It is lighthearted, non-offensive entertainment.
My question to you would be this: if you are not part of the American public, which you so clearly deride, can it be that you are from another country?
