    Pathology is the study of the structural and functional effects of harmful stimuli to the cell tissues and organs of the body and ultimately their consequences on the entire body. Some of the major areas of research at UW are aging, cancer, liver regeneration, HIV/AIDS, vascular biology, cardiovascular disease, and many other specialty areas.
