- Laboratorio de Ingeniería Sísmica (LIS)
Since its establishment in 1989, the LIS has compiled more than 300 records of earthquakes in the Costa Rica region. The Laboratorio de Ingeniería Sísmica was formally created as an extension of the Engineering Research Institute to identify the areas prone to the occurrence of large earthquakes.
